So it actually all began with the travelling shoes – you know, the shoes you wear to the airport and on the plane but never actually wear on holiday. They’re just part of your plane outfit – you know the outfit you wear on the plane but never actually wear on holiday – or is that just me?
My plane outfit usually consists of jeans and a white shirt and when this began my travelling shoes were my rather high and rather impractical tan wedges which I love love love but being a mum of two they never come out to play. So the last minute girls holiday to Marbs was the perfect time to see if I could be that classy sassy mum of two who jets off to Marbs for the weekend in her tan wedges and is totes fabulous – couple of bottles of wine later and a shot before we boarded and it was a totally different story – but that’s for another time!
Anyway fast forward a year and travelling shoes really are becoming ‘my thing’. I wore them to Cornwall, didn’t wear them all week, I wore them to my hen, didn’t wear them all weekend, I wore them just to drive to my sisters to get my hair cut – seriously? What the actual hell!
So you can imagine how I felt when I’m at this style session hosted by my lovely and rather stylish friend (obvs wearing the ridiculous wedges cos I’m out out!) and I get introduced to the travelling bag – I’m sorry what, a travelling bag you say? Well that’s just crazy cos I have travelling shoes and I’m pretty sure I NEED a travelling bag in my life. I don’t even know what a travelling bag is but I will buy it and I will have it and it’s literally been designed for me and ok calm down H it’s just a bag – a bag that you take to the airport to complete your travelling outfit and you don’t use again until you come home.

Except the travelling bag does get used on holiday because it’s so much more than a bag – not only can I find my passport and boarding pass in that mad moment when I’m asked for them when usually I can’t find them even though I checked a hundred times already and I know I put them in that pocket, or was it that one or hell are they in my trouser pocket or did I give them to G – aghhhhh I’ve lost my passport! You know what I mean. Well no not this time cos my travelling bag is perfectly sized to hold them and just sits there all fabulous until I need it making me look oh so sophisticated and fabulous when asked for my passport!
My travelling bag doesn’t want to be just a travelling bag – it wants to party and has become my new favourite clutch. It literally went with every outfit I had planned for our mini moon, even my bikini and don’t even get me started on how it was the perfect match for my Mrs Norgate outfit – you know, the first outfit you wear as a newbie wife….or is that just me?!
A few weeks later I became Mrs N and I took my travelling bag on our mini moon and our big moon (the one with the kids) and yes it held 4 passports and boarding cards and I wore my blingy sparkly diamanté travelling pumps….just to the airport and back!
